VITERBO TEMPLAR KNIGHTS MUSEUM

In 2019, in Viterbo, open the first italian historical-educational museum dedicated to the Templar Knights. Located in the historic center of the City of the Popes, the museum offers tourists a jouney through approximately two hundreds years of Templar history, from the beginning of the Order, to the admirable feats on the battlefields in the Holy Land, up to the final dissolution by the will of Philippe le Beau, king of France, with the backing of Pope Clement V (Bertrand De Got).

The Templar Knights historical educational museum was designed by the architect Augusto Fenili, Grand Master of the Sacrum Ordinis Militum Templi, who makes available to the visitor his knowledge on the main aspects of the Order of the Templars, supported by expert guides in the subject.

For more informations about the cultural aspects of the Order, medieval blog “Sguardo Sul Medioevo” provided the museum with a QRCODE system that visitors can access directly from their mobile phone.

The exhibit includes many original items, reconstructions, plastic finished in detail and faithful reproductions of relics of time, done by hand as indicated in the chronicles of time.
